Fees

Entry/Class Fees: Continuous Drive Only: $100. Continuous Drive plus Sunday Classes: $80 plus $15 per each Sunday class.The flat entry fee for the CD includes 1 dressage test, marathon pace(s) and timed obstacles. There is no need to enter these classes separately. For those not competing in the Continuous Drive, the fee is $15 per class; Post Entry Fees: Postmarked after closing date: $20 extra for Continuous Drive; $5 per class; Entry Fee Refund Policy: Refund of entry fees will only be issued upon receipt of a veterinarian’s certificate attesting to the inability of the animal to compete due to injury or illness. This certificate must be received by show management prior to the commencement of classes on Saturday August 1, 2009. Any refunds issued will be minus a $20 office fee. Once the show has begun, no entry fees will be refunded for any reason.
Stall Fee: $100; Stall Deposit: $50 - cleaning deposit; Separate Check? Yes; Stall Refund Policy: No refunds on stalls unless rerented by SDA. Failure to strip stall prior to departure will result in the forfeiture of your cleaning deposit; Make Checks Payable to: Saratoga Driving Association

Summary of Classes Offered: Continuous Drive (dressage, Marathon Paces, Timed Obstacles), Working, Super Reinsmanship, Progressive Obstacles, Concours d'Elegance,Drive for the Cure (judged as a working class. Portion of the proceeds to benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation), Carriage Dog, Working -
Young at Heart.
Dressage Test(s): Training Test 1; Preliminary Test 4;
Ring/Warm-up area Footing: Grass/synthetic arena footing / some dirt/gravel roads
Marathon Notes: Blind marathon paces; helmets required for everyone on the vehicle. Halter & lead required on all vehicles.
Type of Terrain: hilly fields - animals must be fit. Some dirt/gravel roads.
Some wooded areas possible.
Awards Offered: Ribbons 1-6th, Continuous Drive Division Champions/ Res, Overall Division Champions/Res, the Good Hands Award, High Point Morgan (sponsored by AMHA), Best Overall Dressage Score, Overall Show Champion/Res Misc. Class Info: Show management reserves the right to cancel, combine or split classes and/or divisions if entries warrant. No combined driving-type vehicles (such as those designed for marathons) will
be allowed for Sunday's classes.

Other Information

Veterinary/Health Requirements: Negative Coggins within 1 year of show date for Massachusetts equines, within 6 months for all others. Proof of rabies vaccination also required.
Stabling Information: Temporary stalls - first come, first served.
Misc. Show info: Dressage tests and timed obstacles may be entered separately as individual classes for entrants who do not wish to compete in the Continuous Driving Event. Regular class fees ($15) per class will apply.
Food Available on the Grounds: Light fare (pastries, soft drinks, sandwiches) available on grounds; there are also sub/pizza shops nearby.
Accommodations: The Berkshires are a popular destination for tourists and there are many options available, however, we strongly advise that you book early. Below is a partial list of area accommodations.

Camping On Grounds: Yes, The BEC does not allow campers/RVs. However, camping in horse trailers with living quarters is allowed. No hookups or shower facilities.

From West: NY Thruway (RT 90) to exit B3 (RT 22). Take RT 22N to RT 295E. Right on RT 295, to the end. Left on RT 41N, for 1 mile. Turn left at Green Meads Farm sign onto Perry Peak Road. Follow signs to parking.
From East: Massachusetts Turnpike (RT 90) to Exit 1 (West Stockbridge). Right off ramp onto RT 41N. 1 mile past RT 295. Turn left at Green Meads Farm sign onto Perry Peak Road. Follow signs to parking.
