We invite you to the 2026 ADS Annual Meeting Weekend at Galway Downs in Temecula, CA November 19-22 featuring World-Class Four-In-Hand Driver and Clinician Koos de Ronde!
The ADS is pleased to announce that the 2026 Annual Meeting Weekend will be November 19-22, 2026 at Galway Downs in Temecula, CA. Centrally located between Ontario International Airport and San Diego International Airport, Galway Downs is a premiere equestrian facility that spans 240 acres in the heart of Temecula’s wine country. With permanent stalls, beautiful arenas, and a four-mile cross country track, this facility also plays host to the Sweetheart Driving Trial.
The 2026 event will include an ambitious schedule for those who choose to bring their equines and also those who choose to attend without animals.
Headlining this year’s Annual Meeting will be legendary FEI driving master Koos De Ronde (Netherlands). Koos will be teaching a package of three lessons to ten drivers during the weekend: 45-minute private introductory lesson on Thursday, 45-minute private dressage lesson on Friday, and four 1-hour group cones lessons on Saturday. The Friday and Saturday lessons will be open to auditors.
We are honored to have Jane Oehler return in 2026 to organize and judge a training level Attelage at Galway. She will be joined by Paul Van Sickle, Attelage Judge and TD, who will be presenting a talk on “What is Attelage” and will be a judge. Keith Yutzy has volunteered to offer his experience as a TD and course designer at the facility to help design the routier. For those who may not be familiar, an Attelage is similar to the Sporting Day of Traditional Driving that Pacific Region members may recall from several years ago. It has proven to be a popular event for spectators and participants alike.
“Unmounted” clinics will include Bio Security, Horse Health through Nutrition, Turnout, Basic Carriage Maintenance, International Driving, and more. We’ll have a scheduled talk from a member of the Temecula Chamber of Commerce to introduce our attendees to the area and give them some background on Temecula’s rich history that is deeply rooted in the Wild West.
The Annual Meeting of Members and Annual Awards Gala are scheduled on Saturday at the nearby Temecula Creek Inn. The Meeting will be held from 3-5 in the ballroom, followed by a cocktail hour in the courtyard from 5-6. The Gala dinner and awards ceremony will be from 6-8pm in the courtyard, weather permitting.
Lodging is available on-site in the form of Ranch Houses (four bedroom, six beds, four bath), Pony Houses (two bedroom, two beds, one bath), and full hookup RV sites. The six-bed Ranch Houses are priced at $700/night for 2-3 nights, or $630/night for 4 or more nights. This year’s Annual Meeting Weekend is the perfect opportunity to travel with your friends to enjoy all that Southern California has to offer. Consider adding on a day at the end of your trip to visit the Sand Diego area sites, like San Diego Zoo and Safari Park, the USS Midway Museum, or explore marine life and snorkeling at the La Jolla beaches. If you’re flying into LAX or Ontario, you can visit Disneyland and California Adventure, Knott’s Berry Farm, Universal Studios, many iconic beaches, or even make a day trip to Palm Springs.
We will have registration open on the ADS website by June 1, but make sure to mark your calendars now for November 19-22, 2026!
